Dr Herric Corray served as the Director of Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) from 2018 to 2021, overseeing the largest hospital in Asia with approximately 11,000 staff and 2,250 beds. Prior to this role, he was the Director of Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, from 2011 to 2018. Following his retirement, Dr Corray worked with Mudah Healthcare in Kuala Lumpur in 2021 and with Sabahcare Group in Kota Kinabalu from 2022 to 2023. He has been attached to the Malaysian Society for Quality in Health (MSQH) since 1 January 2024, where he previously served as a Councillor for 10 years and as Deputy President for 1 year.

Dr Corray’s education includes an MBBS from Kasturba Medical College, India, the Advanced Leadership and Management Programme at Intan, and the Senior Leadership Programme at the Razak School of Government in Cambridge, UK. During his tenure at HKL, he achieved significant milestones, including the performance of 117 renal transplant cases in 2020, the establishment of a Pulmonary Tuberculosis (PTB) Isolation Zone, and the commencement of operations at Hospital Tunku Azizah Kuala Lumpur, a Women and Children Hospital. Additionally, under his leadership, HKL became the second designated COVID-19 Centre in 2020-2021, playing a pivotal role in managing the pandemic’s impact on healthcare facilities.
